For Community-Led Organizations Responding to COVID-19

MAMA HOPE nurtures the work of community-led organizations around the world. We help to ensure that these partners have unrestricted resources to transform lives and build a sustainable future for generations to come.

When COVID-19 hit, many international organizations moved to conduct their work remotely while community-led organizations responded on the frontlines of the global crisis. They got creative and got to work, making much-needed soap and protective masks, providing food-aid to families, and addressing other challenges that stemmed from lockdowns and the economic downturn in their communities. Last year, MAMA HOPE created the Resilience Fund to drive unrestricted funding into the hands of our partners so they were supported to continue their essential programs, and respond effectively as the virus reached their communities. Your donations made a difference, strengthening the resilience of local leaders addressing COVID-19 within their communities. Teachers were able to keep teaching, nurses and doctors could provide care and women were protected in dangerous living situations. Unfortunately, The pandemic and its ongoing impacts are far from over. As low income communities recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, outbreaks of new viral variants, inequitable distribution of vaccines, and preventive measures are continuing to take a toll on grassroots organizations.

This year, MAMA HOPE wants to drive more unrestricted funding to community-led partners to address the long-term effects of COVID-19 on the well-being and economic growth of their communities. Our partners need the space, and time to heal and reestablish the full functioning of their essential services. In so doing, creating more equitable futures in communities that are facing the disproportionate impact of COVID-19.

Community-led organisations supported their communities through the worst. You can help us keep that momentum going by investing in locally rooted solutions today!
